Victorian water utilities are seeking innovative solutions to improve their network operations through the application of smart sensing technology and advanced data analytics. We are seeking a suitably qualified graduate/engineer who is passionate about shaping the future of sewer asset management to undertake this PhD research. Based out of Deakin’s award-winning Geelong Waurn Ponds campus, the applied research will be complementary to an existing “Lorne Smart Sewer” project sponsored by Barwon Water, Victoria’s largest regional water corporation, and Victoria’s IWN ( http://www.iwn.org.au/ ). The research will focus on a case study in selected critical sewer pipes at Lorne – a popular holiday destination situated on the southwest Victorian coastline.
