As Engineer - Asset Management your skills and expertise will be utilised for the development and implementation of lifecycle asset management and associated strategies, policies, standards, business processes and systems including: asset registers; asset maintenance systems; performance reporting; benchmarking and audit for water supply and wastewater assets. Additionally, you will have the responsibility for condition assessment used for depreciation, valuation and risk assessment purposes. At a strategic level, you will develop risk based renewal capital works programs for the ongoing operation of the Water Unit objectives, levels of service and asset management requirements.  You will liaise with the Water Unit Business Accountant, regarding the financial asset register and valuation and you will supervise two staff members.  Council owns and operates $1 billion worth of water and sewer infrastructure and budgets an average of $60 million annually for new and upgraded water and sewer infrastructure. As Graduate Engineer – Development your skills will help to investigate technical issues in relation to development and planning of the Council Water Supply and Sewerage Systems. You will also provide support to the Engineer - Planning and Systems with developing and maintaining water and sewerage growth related strategic programs. Council is seeking to recruit a Graduate Engineer on a full-time basis for a maximum-term up to 27 December 2019.  The position would be suitable for recent graduates with a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) degree; however additional experience with Water Supply and Sewerage for residential development would be an advantage.  Competence in written reporting and verbal communication in plain colloquial English is required as the research and liaison components of the position may involve regular interaction with consultants, contractors, other staff and the public.
