The Role
We are seeking a Water Resources Engineer (Surface Water Modeller) to join our Brisbane-based team of specialists. This is a hands-on, technical role, tackling crucial challenges around flooding, stormwater drainage, water management and water quality. It involves data manipulation, analysis and developing hydrologic, hydraulic and water management models for a range of major mining, development and floodplain management projects. Report writing will also be a key component of the role.
In this role, you will be exposed to most of the industry-standard spatial and water modelling tools and will be mentored and guided through advancing your water modelling skills. You will work on solving water management problems in stormwater drainage, water quality, infrastructure design, mining approvals, environmental compliance and flood impact assessment. You will contribute to developing methodologies, undertake and manage modelling tasks, and attend client meetings alongside senior leaders.
You will be part of a team that presents the relevant facts with professionalism and integrity, ensuring clients, regulators and the community understand project risks and make informed decisions. We overcome complex and rare problems with competing priorities, that are often beyond the scope of generalist companies.

You
You will be an engineer with surface water modelling skills, seeking a greater level of responsibility and advancement in a strong, secure, specialist consultancy firm. You will flourish in an environment where you are part of an expert team, have direct access to specialists and undertake interesting, complex and varied projects.
You will have a degree in civil, environmental or agricultural engineering (honours preferable) and ideally, postgraduate studies in hydrology or hydraulic engineering.
