Hydrologist/Water Resources Engineer   Are you an experienced Hydrologist/ Water Resources Engineer? Want to become part of our innovative and progressive team? Emerge Associates are looking to expand our team of passionate and enthusiastic professionals in our Perth office with an experienced hydrologist.   About Us  We are an energetic team of 55+ staff that are Western Australia’s leading combined Environmental Consulting and Landscape Architecture practice.    Your Opportunity with Emerge We are looking for a dedicated, passionate and enthusiastic hydrologist/engineer to help us deliver our water resource capability, with a specific focus in hydrological modelling. The role is varied and includes project and client management, general consulting and technical project execution skills.  In this role you will: Manage projects and clients and lead the technical inputs for a range of water related projects across Urban Development, Mining, Local and State Government areas. Focus on hydrological modelling aspects of projects, with emphasis on flood mapping, drainage design and surface water management. Complete surface water modelling projects (or elements of projects) including designing and building hydrological and hydraulic models, interpretation of site data to inform model assumptions, catchment analysis utilising varying techniques, analysis and interpretation of model results and implications to project outcomes. Develop and assist with surface water data collection planning and analysis to inform model parameters. Work with the GIS team to prepare mapping demonstrating modelling outcomes. Prepare and review technical reports required to support modelling works completed for projects. Support junior team members in growing technical capability in modelling and surface water hydrology. Assist the Hydrology Team Leader with management of modelling team resourcing to achieve project deliverables across multiple projects and teams. Collaborate with other team members across other technical specialties to drive best practice and innovative solutions. Opportunity for diversification of skillset into other technical areas (e.g. groundwater). Full or part-time role potentially available. Remuneration package will be tailored to suit the applicant’s experience and capability.   What you will bring  A minimum of 3 years experience in hydrological and hydraulic modelling. Current experience with 1D/2D flood modelling is essential. Familiarity with XP software suite desirable. Basic AutoCAD and GIS skills are essential. Groundwater modelling experience/capability would be advantageous. Ability to critically think and problem solve. A keen eye for detail and capacity to provide creative solutions to complex technical issues. Ability to manage and communicate team workloads and priorities. An enthusiasm, passion and willingness to assist the management team with client relationships. An enthusiasm to guide and support junior staff in their professional development. An ability to communicate and collaborate effectively within teams and at all levels. High standards of professional and personal ethics.
