About us: The Australian Water Association (AWA) is a national not-for-profit organisation and Australia’s biggest water network. Our Purpose is to share, connect and inspire a sustainable water future.

Join our innovative and dynamic organisation at this exciting time as we modernise, upskill and digitally transform into a truly member centric organisation.

The opportunity: This is a great opportunity for an experienced Events Manager to join our amazing in-house Events, Awards & Digital team. You will manage and deliver a diverse range of premium in-person, digital and hybrid events, including multi-day and multi-stream conferences, gala dinners and award ceremonies, workshops and webinars for the association. At AWA we deliver approximately 100 quality events each year. Broadly, you will be responsible for independently managing the end-to-end production of national and state-based events; everything from program curation and development, managing and engaging with Committees, managing suppliers, venues and catering, organising relevant technology requirements and maintaining sponsor relationships, through to financial management and post event reporting.

We strive to foster a ‘One AWA’ culture by connecting and working closely with our colleagues, this means collaborating with our Member Engagement Managers in each state/territory to produce and deliver major state-based events.  You will also work closely with other members of the broader AWA team on a range of projects.

Success in this role contributes greatly to the Association’s member centric strategy.

What you’ll need to succeed: Proven event management skills (at least 5 years exp) with demonstrated ability to manage medium to large events from conception to delivery.  You are digitally savvy with proven experience delivering hybrid and digital events is ideal, as are experienced working with committees to deliver an event.

As with any busy Events Manager role, this role will require the ability to work across multiple projects simultaneously so good time management is a must, as is excellent communication and collaboration skills and a willingness to learn and embrace new technologies.

You will have experience with event software (Jomable, Aventri or similar) and be a proficient technology user who is always looking to improve.

An easy, helpful manner and a calm, unflappable approach will also prove very useful!
