Description

Goulburn Valley Water (GVW) provides quality water and wastewater services to 54 towns in North Central Victoria. Our core purpose is to deliver safe, reliable, and affordable water services to residential, commercial, and industrial customers.

Reporting to the General Manager – Planning and Assets, you will be responsible for the successful implementation and delivery of Mechanical and Electrical maintenance programs across all the organisation’s operations.

An extensive background in mechanical and electrical maintenance, complemented with experience in water and wastewater industrial operations allows you to liaise with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure the delivery of maintenance programs.

Experience managing multi-disciplinary team enables you to provide strong leadership that drives team performance and culture.

Contributing to your success in this role is your well-developed strategic and analytical thinking skills and an ability to demonstrate initiative.

About your new role...
In this key technical and leadership position your focus is to implement and deliver Asset Monitoring and Maintenance programs across all of Goulburn Valley Waters operations.

Assisting you to do this is a core group of multidisciplinary personnel, who you will passionately cultivate and support them to achieve success in service delivery whilst meeting the values of the corporation.

Accustomed to strategic challenges, you combat this through bringing innovative and creative solutions to the table.

Possessing and inquisitive, yet engaging nature, you are at ease with establishing, developing, and maintaining relationships from field staff right through to executive management.

Based at the Shepparton Operations Centre where you will enjoy being part of the organisation that houses our operations and technical staff and be benefited from hassle free parking! You will be afforded the ability to work flexibly, in line with GVW’s flexible working policy.


About you...
To be considered for this role you must have demonstrated the following:

  • Degree or above in Engineering (Mechanical and Electrical preferred) or equivalent
  • A trade qualification in Engineering (Mechanical and Electrical) and Advanced post-trade qualification (Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree) are also preferred but not essential
  • Extensive mechanical and electrical experience in the Water Industry or Utilities industry
  • Experience in industrial operations (water and wastewater) and maintenance/coordinator across multiple site locations
  • Understanding of OH&S management systems, processes, and responsibilities
  • Extensive experience in computerised maintenance management systems
  • Previous people management experience, including leading a team to achieve quality outcomes
  • Previous experience in managing competing priorities, workloads, and budgets
  • Strong organisational, self-management and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including written and presentation skills
  • Highly capable in liaising with a range of stakeholders, both internal and external 
  • Strong OHS commitment and focus
  • Committed to contributing positively to your team and the organisation
  • A current driver’s licence
