The Role

As the Senior Stormwater Planner you will demonstrate expert proficiency in strategic and technical leadership in stormwater and Victoria’s Planning System. You’ll be responsible for applying this specialised knowledge, to support internal change management practices that drive new approaches to ensure that urban growth achieves improved stormwater practices.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated expert proficiency, knowledge, practical experience and leadership relating to stormwater management and improvement, such as water sensitive urban design and integrated urban water management.
  • Extensive understanding of development industry issues, across aspects such as town planning, precinct structure plans and development service schemes.
  • Change leadership experience and ability to promote and drive change, including working through ambiguity, complexity and resistance.
  • Proven high level ability to plan, implement, evaluate and manage complex business improvement and change projects, taking into account operational, financial and strategic issues.
  • Knowledge and understanding (theoretical and practical) of stormwater industry issues, relevant research and best practice and the ability to align activities to current policy, regulation and standards.
  • Strong customer focus with well-developed communication, influencing and negotiating skills and the ability to build strong relationships and gain the confidence of stakeholders and partners.

Your ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders is required together with a qualification in engineering, science or town planning is essential, with direct experience in stormwater management and the design of water sensitive urban design or integrated water management.
