The Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Water Resources Professional to be part of the AECOM Water Resources team based in Melbourne.
This is a career-defining opportunity for a driven professional to play an instrumental role in the continued growth of our water-related service offering across Victoria.
The focus of this role will be to support a large variety of projects across all market sectors, with a focus on transport (road, rail and air), water, power and private sector markets located across Victoria and beyond.
You will have the opportunity to support our offices across ANZ and to collaborate with other geographies as part of the wider AECOM network. We are specifically seeking an individual with a strong flood risk management, flood modelling and hydrology/hydraulic assessment background.
Your experience in this field means you will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of interesting projects and where appropriate provide direct supervision, leadership and mentoring of junior staff to assist in their professional development.
The role also offers a significant opportunity to establish yourself within a diverse and growing team of water resources professionals, and to ultimately broaden your experience across the wider water resources sector.
About You
To be successful in this role you will be a clear and confident communicator, with a keen interest in further developing your existing skillset but also broadening your experience across a wide range of projects.
Essential criteria include the following:
Bachelor’s degree in civil or civil/environmental engineering (focused on water engineering)
Experience in consulting engineering or a similar local/state government role, with exposure to medium-large and multidisciplinary infrastructure projects
Strong client focus, high level of motivation and dedication and the ability work well in a team environment
Experience with leading a team would be an advantage
High level of proficiency using industry-standard hydrologic and hydraulic modelling software packages (TUFLOW, MIKE, DRAINS, HEC-RAS (1D and 2D), RORB, XPRAFTS, URBS, 12d, MUSIC, GoldSim, OpSim, IQQM, Source etc.)
Experience using GIS (eg. ArcGIS, MapInfo), 12d, CAD and terrain modelling software.
