We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Engineer to join our Water Resources team in Melbourne.
The focus for this role will be to support a variety of projects in the transport, water, energy and urban development markets located across Melbourne and Australia. You will work with teams of professional engineers, scientists, technicians and support staff to deliver flooding and drainage design packages for major infrastructure projects, as well as take responsibility for delivering a range of exciting water resources projects in their own right. Ideally, you will have:
At least 10 years post-graduate experience, most likely in consulting engineering or a similar local/state government role, with exposure to medium-large and multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
Strong client focus, high level of motivation and dedication and the ability work well in a team environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Well-developed organisational and time management skills,
An appetite for fast-paced major projects, and the ability to work to deadlines and under pressure.
High level of proficiency using industry-standard hydrologic and hydraulic modelling software packages (eg. DRAINS, WBNM, RAFTS, HEC-RAS and TUFLOW).
Experience using GIS (eg. MapInfo or ArcGIS), 12d and CAD software.
To be successful in this role you will be a clear and confident communicator, with a keen interest in further developing your existing skillset but also broadening your experience across a wide range of projects. The Melbourne Water Team will highly value your positive attitude to work and provide a fun and inclusive work environment for you to reach your potential.
