The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Engineer to join our Water Resources team in Melbourne.
The focus for this role will be to support a variety of projects in the transport, water, energy and urban development markets located across Melbourne and Australia. You will work with teams of professional engineers, scientists, technicians and support staff to deliver flooding and drainage design packages for major infrastructure projects, as well as take responsibility for delivering a range of exciting water resources projects in their own right. We are currently helping to deliver multiple large infrastructure projects such as Geelong Fast Rail, Rail Network Alliance, Craigieburn Road Upgrade and the Barwon Heads Road Project. As a principal, your experience in the analysis and design of stormwater drainage and flood management infrastructure means you will have the opportunity to take responsibility for leading drainage/hydrology design packages and provide direct supervision, leadership and mentoring to junior staff to assist in their professional development. The role also offers a significant opportunity to establish yourself within a diverse and growing team of civil infrastructure professionals, and to ultimately broaden your experience across the wider water resources sector and related disciplines.
About You
Ideally, you will have:
At least 10 years post-graduate experience, most likely in consulting engineering or a similar local/state government role, with exposure to medium-large and multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
Strong client focus, high level of motivation and dedication and the ability work well in a team environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Well-developed organisational and time management skills,
An appetite for fast-paced major projects, and the ability to work to deadlines and under pressure.
