In Tasmania, GHD has a long-standing relationship with the Water sector and broader industrial clients.  Our team works on a wide variety of projects locally, as well as supporting projects for the broader national team.

GHD’s Tasmanian Digital Delivery team is currently offering a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Civil Designer/Technician (with 5-15 years’ experience) to join the team.

Working alongside our leading technical experts in this field, this position is a great opportunity and will see you involved in:

  • Providing technical design solutions for our local and national water clients
  • Working closely with our local water team to deliver multidisciplinary projects covering the full breadth of the water discipline, with a particular focus on water transmission and distribution
  • Working with an experienced team on challenging and interesting local projects
  • Engaging and coordinating with multiple engineering disciplines as required
  • Utilising various technology platforms such as AutoCAD and Civil3D
  • Continual improvement of design documentation and delivery processes through interaction with our Digital Delivery team
  • Opportunity to oversee and guide junior design technicians

What would you bring to the team?

  • 5-15 years’ relevant experience in design documentation, ideally in water, civil or mechanical engineering disciplines
  • Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree in Engineering Drafting (or equivalent)
  • Superior modelling and drawing skills, utilising various technology platforms such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • Experience in a consulting, design or operational environment working for water utility or heavy industrial operators
  • Proactive, professional, collaborative and personable approach

We’re also open to considering Australian mainland-based candidates to work with the team in a remote capacity.
