We are seeking senior engineering professionals with skills in Hydrology, Flood Modelling or Stormwater and with a well-developed knowledge of the water industry and a passion for problem solving.

You will work as part of our experienced Water Resources Team, which is committed to ongoing innovation and technical development.

You will help us develop sustainable, liveable and climate resilient water solutions, and you will play a key role in delivery of ambitious and interesting projects, allowing you a balance of technical work, project management, operational support, business development and client engagement.

Working in the GHD Water Resources Group will expose you to some of the largest and most interesting projects being undertaken in Victoria, nationally and internationally.

There is flexibility to define your role (whether that be technical, business development or managerial) and drive career outcomes that are most important to you. This is all while working within the hydrology and hydrodynamics service line which is comprised of a large pool of industry leaders and technical experts both nationally and internationally.

Your role will have great variety and will see you involved in:

  • A broad range of projects including major infrastructure, flood risk assessments and mitigation, stormwater and waterway management
  • Undertaking hydrology, hydraulic modelling, flood modelling and mapping
  • Leading hydrological and hydraulic modelling and analysis to inform planning studies through to detailed design of new infrastructure.
  • Preparation of proposals, providing creative solutions and technical reporting
  • Potential for Consequence Category aspects of projects including dams related hydrology
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships, including business development, and engagement throughout project delivery.
  • Providing creative and innovative solutions, technical assignments and reporting.
  • Technical Leadership and Project Management to guide key projects and mentoring other team members.

What would you bring to the team?

  • 7 or more years of experience in the water industry.
  • Experience with using hydrology and hydraulic modelling software TUFLOW, HEC-RAS or MUSIC
  • A good understanding of industry standards such as AR&R.
  • Sound knowledge of GIS, flood forecasting, extreme event or dam hydrology
  • Experience in preparing winning proposals and the successful delivery of projects
  • Experience in working closely with clients to achieve great client outcomes.
  • The ability to lead and/or work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Proven experience across the project lifecycle, including proposals, feasibility studies and detailed design.
  • An interest in coaching and mentoring to technically strengthen the team’s capabilities.
