About the Position

The City Water group delivers essential water and wastewater services to the community through the operation and maintenance of network and treatment plant assets whilst ensuring activities are compliant with the appropriate regulated standards.

The Group Manager City Water oversees a team of more than 70 employees across three business units and multiple locations. The three key streams are network operations, wastewater operations and compliance and reporting. The position will be responsible for developing short-term and long-term water, wastewater and compliance strategies with a focus on delivering the strategic goals set within the Corporate Plan and the City Water Business Plan. It will lead and manage the essential community services of water and wastewater ensuring good governance, industry best practice and facilitation of business delivery aligned to Council’s objectives and priorities.

About the Person

You will be a proven senior leader from the water sector, ideally with experience managing similar water and wastewater commercial businesses delivering water and wastewater services.  Key to success will be the ability to build and maintain successful relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, with a focus on excellent customer service. You will have the agility to manage multifaceted projects as well as day to day physical, financial and information resources to achieve cost effective services and continuous improvement. Adept at leading transformation and change activity, you can drive accountability, collaboration and a continuous improvement mindset with your team. This will be supported by tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Commercial/Business discipline or significant experience in water services industry. Knowledge/experience within Local Government and its legislative frameworks will be highly desirable.
