The Role
AECOM is looking for an influential, collaborative and vibrant Principal or Director specialising in flood hydrology and hydraulics to join our Water Resources team in Melbourne. The successful candidate will join our Water Group leadership team and will help drive the implementation of AECOM’s ANZ Water Strategy. This is a career-defining opportunity for a driven professional to play an instrumental role in the continued growth of our water-related service offering across Victoria.
Our Water Resources team provides services to a range of internal and external clients on projects across the municipal, industrial, civil infrastructure, mining, defence and oil & gas sectors. The team includes engineers and scientists who specialise in a wide range of technical disciplines such as flood risk management, stormwater management, drainage design, water quality and water sensitive urban design.
Using your strong client-focus and developed networks, you will join our multi-disciplinary team to deliver timely, innovative and high-quality project outputs. You will be a motivational leader, fostering the growth and development of our team, which comprises of a combination of new talent and experienced professionals, whilst focusing on technical excellence, project management and client service satisfaction.
About You
We are looking for an innovative and influential leader with a strong local and regional market presence; an individual who can provide technical leadership and business development focus in flooding assessments, whilst fostering a culture of inclusion, support and delivery excellence.
Essential criteria include the following:
RPEV (or eligibility to apply immediately)
Extensive experience and understanding of consulting engineering in the Australian environment, with exposure to flooding assessments for medium-large and multidisciplinary infrastructure projects
Strong client focus, high level of motivation and dedication and the ability work well in a team environment
Experience with leading project teams and/or flooding packages on major projects
High level of proficiency using industry-standard hydrologic and hydraulic modelling software packages (for example TUFLOW, HEC-RAS (1D and 2D) and RORB) and working knowledge of ARR19.
