About the role

We are looking for a Groundwater Specialist – Hydrogeology to join our Health Safety and Environment team to provide groundwater management support, guidance and direction to the rehabilitation of Energy Resources Australia, Ranger Mine.

This role is a great opportunity for a highly motivated individual who is a solution provider, can work in a challenging work environment and have the ability to deal with all levels of stakeholder engagement including technical authorities and government. Reporting to the Superintendent of Environment, you will :

  • Compile, validate and quality assure internal and regulatory water reporting
  • Provide technical and safety oversight of hydrogeological field programmes
  • Identify data anomalies and investigate groundwater uncertainties
  • Coordinate & manage the annual groundwater monitoring program
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with internal stakeholders
  • Liaise with regulators on groundwater investigations & reporting
  • Progress groundwater understandings towards closure

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary Geology or Geoscience qualification or relevant practical experience
  • Demonstrated experience in hydrogeology/hydrology in mine operations or consulting roles
  • Pragmatic approach to work
  • Ability to write and present high level reports
  • Ability to analyse data and translate into solutions
  • Understanding of regulatory principles and statutory requirements

It will also be beneficial if you have:

  • A Master's Degree in Hydrogeology

Relocation will be provided for this minimum 12 month fixed term contract.
