Goulburn Valley Water (GVW) provides quality water and wastewater services to a population of 125,000 across 54 towns in North Central Victoria. Covering a region that extends from the outskirts of Melbourne in the south to the Murray River in the north, the organisations core purpose is to deliver safe, reliable and affordable water services to residential, commercial and industrial customers. With the recent departure of a well-regarded executive member who has been promoted within the Victorian water sector, GVW has realigned the structure, effectively creating two new executive roles.
Reporting to the Managing Director and being an active contributor to the executive team, you will lead the delivery, operations and maintenance of the organisations water and wastewater treatment and network assets. Functions include management of:
Headworks, dams, water diversion assets and bulk entitlements.
Water treatment and regulatory drinking water compliance.
Network operations and performance monitoring.
Delivery of network planned and reactive maintenance programs.
Wastewater treatment and recycling programs.
24 hour emergency response.
Highly regarded a leader in your field you, you will bring proven experience in managing large operational workforces and have a strong focus on safety and wellbeing. With an appreciation of engineering principles you will have some knowledge of utilities, in particular water and sewerage and recycled water would be advantageous. With a passion for continuous improvement, you will be excited by the opportunity presented in this role to truly drive outcomes and lead the sector.
