A rare opportunity has become available for an experienced and qualified Electrical Fitter/Mechanic to join the Water Network team at Mackay Regional Council.

The position of Electrical Fitter/Mechanic is integral to the electrical team day labour workforce and is responsible for providing technical and operational support to the Electrical Team Leader, whilst implementing effective maintenance and construction work practices and providing prompt and effective attention to supply of services to Water Network clients.

Key duties of this role include;

  • Carrying out maintenance and construction work on Water Network assets ensuring compliance with Council’s Policies, By-laws and other legislative and regulatory requirements, including WH&S
  • Ordering required resources, fittings, plant and equipment from construction plans
  • Providing a high level of internal and external client service
  • Maintaining equipment to a high standard

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have:

  • Queensland Electrical “Certificate of Competency” - Electrical Fitter/Mechanic.
  • Construction Blue/White Card.
  • QLD ‘C’ class drivers license.
  • Switchboard rescue & resuscitation certificate.
  • First Aid & CPR certificate or ability to attain prior to commencement.

Work is primarily associated with Water and Waste Water infrastructure, therefore immunisation for Hepatitis A/B and Tetanus is a requirement of this position.

Applicants must be available to partake in an after-hours, on-call 7-day roster system.
