TRILITY has constructed 8 new Water Treatment Plants in regional Tasmania which are currently undergoing proving trials and we are seeking an experienced Process Controller to assist the existing team to operate the plants during the extended proving period.

You will be accountable for proving the performance of the Water Treatment Plants in central and north eastern Tasmania to the satisfaction of TasWater. Your duties will include process control, water sampling and laboratory testing and maintenance of process equipment associated with these facilities.
You will be capable of working on your own initiative and assuming responsibility for plant operation. Whilst the majority of work is day based, the role requires participation in an on-call roster covering remote operations duties and plant attendance after hours and on weekends as necessary.
You will be expected to make and implement decisions relating to treatment and processes and in so doing, comply with all legislation, regulations, Company and site procedures or instructions as documented.
This is a full time position, initially on a 12 month contract basis, primarily based in Launceston.
What We Are Looking For:
Operating experience using SCADA & computer based plant control systems is essential.
A trade background, or tertiary qualifications in water treatment, engineering or science.
Possess effective problem solving skills & sound judgement in relation to plant operations.
Familiarity in use of PC’s and a range of software
Ability to use SAP maintenance & purchasing software systems will be viewed favourably
Possess a high level of maturity, with the ability to make decisions relating to the availability and quality of the public water supply with minimal direction and guidance
Experience in operation and maintenance of water treatment facilities.
Be flexible with the ability to adapt to change and rapidly apply new knowledge
Be a reliable team member, and be an effective communicator with good interpersonal skills
Enjoy working within and supporting a small team
Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks at the same time
Current residential address is a consideration in meeting business needs
