Smart Approved WaterMark has a vacancy for an Expert Panel member with a sound understanding of (the nursery/horticultural/gardening industry) in Australia. A background in media would be considered advantageous.
Smart Approved WaterMark is Australia’s water efficiency certification scheme for products and services that help to reduce water use.
The Independent Technical Expert Panel assesses applications to the Smart Approved WaterMark scheme against a set of published criteria. Panel Members review applications, analyse information and decide whether the product or service will lead to a reduction in water consumption or improved water efficiency.
The Panel meets every quarter (three online meetings and one face to face). From time to time panel members may be asked to participate in sub committees to help prepare guidelines on specific topics to help the Panel make decisions and to help guide applicants.
A stipend is paid to Expert Panel Members and expenses incurred in carrying out the role are reimbursed.
Smart Approved WaterMark
Demonstrated extensive experience in the nursery/horticultural industry.
Experience in the media either broadcast, print or online.
Experience in dealing with application-based schemes would be advantageous.
A sound understanding of the issues facing the water industry in Australia, along with industry, retail and consumer needs.
A degree of recognition at a state and/or national level.
