The recent formation of the TasWater Capital Delivery Office Alliance in partnership with UGL/CPB/WSP has resulted in an opportunity for an experienced Senior Engineer Electrical Design to provide engineering support, advice, design input, and design management to enable the delivery of projects and/or programs of works for the efficient upgrade and creation of water and wastewater assets, with a particular focus on Electrical assets.
You will join WSP based in Hobart, Launceston or Devonport (Statewide - flexible). Relocation assistance will be provided for overseas candidates (Visa cost, Flights, Accommodation, and shipping).
Provide input to business case authors on the Electrical requirements of solutions identified for infrastructure projects including cost estimates for Electrical components based on concept, preliminary and/or detailed designs as required.
Collaborate with internal TW stakeholders to ensure clarity of project needs. Manage timeliness and quality associated with Electrical discipline inputs into task notices (TNs) and task budget requests (TBRs) for design and engineering tasks.
Undertake (or lead) field and desktop investigations related to the condition, appropriateness, and capacity of existing electrical infrastructure related to capital upgrades.
Assume the responsibility of a discipline lead or design manager to develop or procure concept, preliminary or detailed designs for Electrical assets as an integrated component of infrastructure projects. Ensure Electrical solutions are safe, deliverable, fit for purpose, to relevant standards and that cost estimates are accurate.
Prepare detailed documentation and specification requirements for Electrical components in order to support procurement and delivery of allocated projects.
Respond to technical Requests for Information (RFIs) during the construction and commissioning phase of projects.
Develop requirements for testing and commissioning plans for Electrical assets, and provide advice as required during FAT, SAT and commissioning project phases.
Engage consultants and contractor/s to plan, design and prepare documentation for Electrical assets.
Directly supervise and manage consultants engaged to undertake investigations, planning, design and documentation of new Electrical assets.
Manage scope, budget, schedule and quality of consultant engagements.
Support the delivery of allocated projects by providing input to the Initiating Group Project Manager as required on technical questions that arise during construction relating to Electrical assets.
Foster a positive and effective relationship with internal and external stakeholders.

Tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline such as Electrical Engineering.
Extensive knowledge and demonstrated experience in the development of standards, conceptual, and detailed design, and design management of Electrical infrastructure, particularly relating to the water utility sector or similar.
A minimum of 8 years relevant professional experience.
Ability to relate to and work with Service Delivery staff and other stakeholders to achieve improved business outcomes; ability to develop strong working relationships with operators and other stakeholders.
Current ‘C Class’ driver’s license.
Experience with design and design management of SCADA systems would also be desirable.
