Operations and Maintenance
Bring your leadership, business acumen and operations experience and join the team at the Mundaring WTP as the Operations Manager. This is an outstanding career opportunity for someone who is looking for a permanent and progressive role in the dynamic water industry.
The purpose of this challenging and rewarding position is to successfully lead the ACCIONA TRILITY Joint Venture (ATJV) Operations and Maintenance team on the Mundaring Water Treatment Plant (WTP) Contract, ensuring safe, efficient, profitable, compliant and innovative operations and maintenance services.
The role will be best suited to someone who has a water sector background and a track record of strong team and leadership capabilities, contract administration and the skills to build and maintain effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. Demonstratable budgeting, contract and management systems knowledge is also required as is the confidence to make complex decisions in a rapidly changing environment.
Offering a competitive remuneration, this is a full-time site-based role and requires the flexibility for some intra and interstate travel.
Reporting to the General Manager Operations (and to the ATJV Board), this role will require the successful person to have the following:
Professional/Technical Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Water Treatment experience
Demonstrated high level of commercial acumen
Demonstrated financial management and budgeting skills on similar contracts
A track record in managing and leading operations and maintenance teams on high profile contracts
Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining effective and harmonious relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders and
Demonstrated and comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the principles, policies and practices associated with safety, environmental and quality management systems, and their application.
Be enthusiastic and dedicated, with high levels of initiative and drive
Possess a high level of maturity, with the ability to make decisions with minimal direction and guidance
Possess sound judgement in relation to commercial and operational issues
Be flexible with the ability to adapt to change and rapidly apply new knowledge
Possess strong leadership capabilities and be an effective communicator with good interpersonal skills
Demonstrated sound judgement in relation to being accountable to and working with client’s representatives
Possess superior problem-solving skills
Be able to effectively deal with competing priorities and manage risks
Be able to work independently for long periods
Be able to effectively manage client interfaces and stakeholder relationships and
Possess sound report writing skills.
Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related discipline and/or equivalent experience
While not essential, the following skills and abilities will be highly regarded:
Water Treatment experience in DAFF / BAC
Minimum 10 years demonstrated experience at a Senior level in the operations and maintenance of large-scale water infrastructure
Sound knowledge of water quality management issues and practices associated with potable water supply to customers and
Postgraduate qualifications in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
