The Opportunity

With a complex and diverse range of assets across more than 180 water and sewerage schemes, this is your opportunity to shape strategic asset management through innovation at TasWater to create vibrant social infrastructure for Tasmanian communities.

Reporting to the CEO and as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the General Manager Asset Management Services will have significant responsibility to assist in shaping the direction of the business. You will develop and implement industry leading asset management policy, framework and strategies and development services plans in a manner that is aligned to the corporation’s strategy, vision and values.

This role can be located in Launceston or Devonport.

Key Accountabilities

  • Implementation of asset lifecycle strategies that optimise the performance and resilience of TasWater’s water and waste water assets and services.
  • Implementation of an asset data strategy.
  • Collaboration with, and high levels of service delivery to, multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Taking a systems engineering approach, to prioritise and implement TasWater’s rolling annual capital and operational programs of work for asset upgrades, renewals and planned maintenance.

Above all else, this is a leadership role where you be able to make a meaningful and palpable contribution to the leadership and culture of TasWater, building on their positive, customer focused and constructive culture.

Your Application

The successful applicant will demonstrate proven experience leading teams of people in a customer focused organisation and senior management experience with the operation of large scale major capital delivery programs and alliance models. A deep understanding of contemporary water industry asset management frameworks, experience in the development and operation of modern asset management systems, together with an understanding of the fundamentals of systems engineering is essential. Outstanding communication, relationship building and stakeholder management skills and the ability to successfully manage change in a complex environment is also required.
