About the Senior Water Engineer Role:
Our national Water team is growing! Tonkin is now seeking a suitably qualified Senior Water Engineer who is based in either Adelaide or Brisbane and has experience in water and wastewater infrastructure design, to support our growing program of water industry projects across the country. As a trusted industry partner providing tailored water and wastewater infrastructure solutions, Tonkin has a well-established portfolio of high-profile clients across both public sector entities and private industry. Our Water team prides itself on professional, technical and collaborative excellence, with a multidisciplinary approach that ensures our clients receive innovative solutions delivered by market leading experts in their field. With your well established experience delivering water and wastewater projects, and keen on growing your career in this critical sector, you will be as passionate as we are about all things Water and will responsible for delivering the following:
Providing specialist technical inputs, leadership, support and oversee a range of projects to support the delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure design projects across the national Water Program
Delivering risk assessment, risk management and quality management functions, ensuring compliance with all current statutory requirements, engineering and contract standards
Assisting the Water team in interpreting project documents and client briefs, to identify the risks, complexities and interdependencies of multiple issues and to formulate strategies and action plans to address identified issues
Maintaining and sharing knowledge of current statutory requirements, relevant engineering standards, and industry developments, innovations and best practice that support both specific project deliverables and broader specialist capability development
Contributing to growing the Water team’s knowledge and technical understanding through knowledge transfer activities, and mentoring that builds individual, team and organisational capability in the field of water and wastewater management
Building and maintaining relationships with clients and key stakeholders that result in project delivery excellence and future business growth.
Together with your exemplary teamwork, leadership, written and verbal communication skills; to be successful in this role our new Senior Water Engineer will ideally possess:
Extensive senior level experience in the leadership and delivery of water and wastewater design projects
A collaborative and empowering approach to supporting and guiding others in the delivery of technical excellence across a variety of projects
Strong working knowledge of current statutory requirements, engineering and contract standards
A recognised Degree in Civil Engineering with Chartered Engineering status (CPEng), and eligibility for relevant professional Engineer registration in Qld and in other states where required by state-based registration schemes
This Adelaide or Brisbane based position represents a rare and exciting opportunity for either an existing Senior Engineer with several years experience in the industry, or a confident Engineer with relevant experience who is ready to take the next step in their career as a senior technical expert in their field.
