About your new role...
Reporting to the Infrastructure Planning Coordinator, you will be the newest teammate of a team of engineers who are responsible for planning the Corporation’s water and wastewater infrastructure to ensure adequate capacity and capability.
This role will see you participate in the development and implementation of key planning strategies for the Corporation, including 20-year master plans for water and sewer networks and water and wastewater treatment facilities, undertake investigations into the servicing of new developments and customers, and assist other teams at GVW to deliver capital projects or troubleshoot operational issues.
Key components of your role will focus on network and treatment infrastructure planning, hydraulic modelling, planning strategies and forecasting and project management.
Your knowledge and understanding of design and operations of water and sewer networks and water and wastewater treatment process will be valued.
Representing the community at public forums will allow your professionalism and ability to collaborate and engage effectively to be on display.
You will have the ability to work flexibly, in line with GVW’s flexible working policy.
About you... To be considered for this role you must have demonstrated the following;
*Degree Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering *Previous experience in the water industry or similar, with emphasis on future asset planning *Extensive experience in hydraulic modelling and associated software (InfoWater SA and InfoWorks ICM) is desirable *Knowledge and understanding of design and operations of water and sewer networks and water and wastewater treatment processes is desirable *Experience in one or more of the following areas is desirable; environmental management, water resource planning and/or greenhouse gas emission reduction *Competent project management skills *Proven ability to engage collaboratively, influence and negotiate with a range of stakeholders *Strong interpersonal skills *Strong written and verbal communication skills across all levels *Possess a drive to succeed *Ability to work autonomously and manage your time effectively *Get a buzz out of problem solving and thrive in a fast paced environment *Beyond passionate about providing a positive customer experience *High level computer, administrative and report writing skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite *Strong OHS commitment and focus *A current motor vehicle licence is essential
