The opportunity: This is a part-time position, working 4 days per week, QLD based. As a member of our Strategy, Member Engagement & Innovation group you will be responsible for our QLD membership growth and retention while delivering a great member experience.
You will support the QLD Branch and some Specialist Networks to deliver activities and events that enable the Association to achieve its Strategy’22 objectives. We strive to foster a ‘One AWA’ culture by connecting and working closely with our colleagues and members across the country. Your excellent customer relationship skills will enable you to attract new and retain members whilst delivering a great customer experience.
This role will also require the ability to work across multiple activities and projects using Agile ways of working while keeping existing member processes and services going. You will be an active user of our CX focussed CRM (HubSpot) to drive engagement and to deliver a great member experience regardless of what part of the journey our members or potential members are on.

What you’ll need to succeed: You’ll need 5+ years’ experience in a customer or member relationship role with the ability to also support the delivery of meetings, initiatives and events. Critical to your success is your demonstrated experience in project management and /or event management, and your ability to develop strong partnerships while working across multiple committees and projects simultaneously.
You will have excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to write content for internal workspaces and external communications. You will have strong time, budget and sales management skills and be proficient in all major business packages (i.e. Zoom, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Office 365, SharePoint), while also being confident to learn new technologies and systems. An easy, helpful manner and a calm, unflappable approach will also prove very useful!
You will have tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (e.g. communications, business administration, marketing or similar) or equivalent work experience.
Desirable: Knowledge or experience with the water sector or similar would be an advantage.
