Goulburn Valley Water (GVW) provides quality water and wastewater services to 54 towns in North Central Victoria. Our core purpose is to deliver safe, reliable and affordable water services to residential, commercial and industrial customers.
An integral role supporting the Manager – Safety, you will be responsible for proactively enhancing a safe work culture throughout the Corporation
Well versed in OH&S legislation, Acts, policies and procedures, you are confident in providing expert advice, guidance and technical expertise.
In this role you will call on your knowledge and experience to implement safety and wellbeing strategies, provide guidance and advice on best practice health and safety matters and manage the return to work and rehabilitation programs.
You will lead a culture of care using well developed mentoring, coaching and communications skills ensuring strong relationships between the safety team and the organisation.
Your expertise in safety and wellbeing space is gleaned through qualifications and experience in the safety and leadership fields and will allow you to provide effective support to the corporation
About your new role...
Safety and wellbeing management and improvement are the focus areas for this role, in particular the management and continuous improvement of safety culture, capability and initiatives within field-based teams.
You will have the opportunity to work with staff across our multiple locations, including centrally in Shepparton, to Alexandra in the East, Seymour in the West and Cobram in North. Here you will be able to impart your years of relevant practical experience in the areas of safety leadership to drive and promote a culture of care.
This will be achieved through your strengths in engagement, collaboration and bring people on the journey.
Analysing key safety data, leading safety investigations and providing high level people and process support for injured workers makes you a valuable member of the dedicated safety team and wider organisation.
About you... To be considered for this role you must have demonstrated the following;
*Degree qualified in relevant area that includes studies within OHS field is essential *Completion of an accredited Workplace Rehabilitation Coordinator program *Certificate 4 in Workplace Assessment and Training *A proven record of success in the implementation of OHS change and related OHS achievements *Knowledge of relevant Acts, Regulations, Codes of Practice and Australian Standards *Demonstrated experience in an accredited OHS Management System to AS4801 or equivalent level *Knowledge of general Health and Safety terms and definitions *Experience in conducting data and trend analysis *Proven ability to engage collaboratively, influence and negotiate with a range of stakeholders *Strong interpersonal skills *Strong written and verbal communication skills across all levels *A current motor vehicle licence is essential

Our region extends from the outskirts of Melbourne in the south, to the Murray River in the north, covering approximately 20,000km2. With an extensive irrigation district and network of rivers and creeks our bulk water supply is principally sourced from the Goulburn, Broken, Murray, Steavenson, Rubicon and Delatite River systems and a number of smaller local streams including Sunday Creek and Seven Creeks.
